LDS Family Values Awarded to John Gallagher for his Community Service

Hamilton businessman John Gallagher is the latest recipients of an LDS Family Values Award.

The award was presented by Elder Hans Sorensen on behalf of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the newly renovated Hamilton New Zealand Temple Visitors’ Centre on Sunday, May 4.

Mr Gallagher said he was humbled to receive the award and paid tribute to his wife Glenice who had always given him support and encouragement.

For the past 35 years he has been a strong supporter of community-based organisations that support families. Included among them are Habitat for Humanity where he has served on the national board, Rotary, St John Ambulance, Hamilton City Council where he has served as Deputy Mayor; and the Waikato University Council as Chancellor.
