AUCKLAND, New Zealand - The First Presidency had announced in October a change in the Pacific Area Presidency, effective immediately. Elder David S. Baxter, president of the area since August 2008, recently underwent surgery in Salt Lake City and has been reassigned to Church headquarters. Elder Tad R. Callister will serve as president of the area, with Elder James J. Hamula as first counselor and Elder Brent H. Nielson as second counselor.

According to the BBC, the Parliament was attended by thousands of people from 80 nationalities and 220 faith traditions. The theme of the Parliament was: "Make a world of difference: hearing each other, healing the earth."
